Florida’s new Peppa Pig Land: Peppa Pig Theme Park Legoland

Florida is full of fun characters and the Brits love it, so it was only a matter of time before England’s second-most famous family (after the Windsors) came to town. This year, the doors have opened to a new Peppa Pig Land, The Peppa Pig Theme Park. This all-new amusement park is just outside Orlando, adding to the huge range of fun activities there is to do in the sunshine state. The brand new park is located next to the already popular LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, which attracts over a million visitors a year.

Aimed primarily at pre-schoolers and designed to be the ultimate day out for little ones, the Peppa Pig park combines interactive rides and themed playgrounds with character shows and an indoor cinema for quieter moments (or rainy ones).

There was a lot of excitement when a new Peppa Pig Land was announced last year and Merlin Entertainments have now confirmed that the Peppa Pig Theme Park in Florida will open on February 24, 2022. It’s an exciting new addition to the itineraries of a lot of holiday-makers keen to do as much as possible on their dream trip to Florida. With their cheerful outlook and brightly-coloured theming, we already know the Peppa Pig gang will fit right in alongside Mickey and Co (Walt Disney World), Minions (Universal) and Sesame Street (SeaWorld), plus all the Lego favourites next door.

Is the Peppa Pig Theme Park part of Legoland Florida?

The new Florida Peppa Pig Theme Park is not part of the LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, opening as a stand alone theme park dedicated to all things Peppa. This means it will be separately ticketed and you will need to purchase tickets to the Peppa Pig Theme Park individually.  Entry prices start from $30.99 for a one-day entry when you book in advance (on-the-gate tickets start from $34.99).

However, here in the UK you can purchase a combo ticket to LEGOLAND® Florida Resort and Peppa Pig Theme Park, which works out excellent value.

Florida’s new Peppa Pig Land: Peppa Pig Theme Park – what are the highlights?

We visited Paultons Park: Home of Peppa Pig in the UK and found that all children, whatever age or height could ride every attraction in Peppa Pig World. The Peppa Pig Theme Park is designed in the same way, meaning it’s a fantastic place to visit if you are a group with younger children in the party. No one gets left out! All the rides have fun themes – that we enjoyed as much as the children – and well recognised settings and characters you’ll be more than familiar with if your children love Peppa as much as mine!

We visited with a two-year-old and a five-year-old and both children had a brilliant time.

What rides will be at the Peppa Pig Park in Florida?

The fully immersive, family-friendly park means that mums, dads, carers, aunties, uncles, grannies and grandads, brothers and sisters can all ride, soar and set sail together in six new rides based on episodes of the popular TV series:

Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster – My kids loved riding in Daddy Pig’s famous red car, especially when they encounter Mr. Bull “digging up the road” (well, of course) and expert Daddy Pig is forced to take one of his famous short cuts! This gentle ‘thrill’ ride is the perfect first roller coaster for brave little piggies!

Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride – This is the most popular attraction at the UK Peppa Pig World, attracting the biggest queues, so you might want to head there first if the Florida ride draws the same interest. Ride to the sky with Peppa Pig and your family in Miss Rabbit’s hot air balloon and enjoy a stunning view from the very top.

Grandad Dog’s Pirate Boat Ride – This bumpy boat ride with Grandad Dog was a big hit with my little ones.

Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure – Okay, so this was my favourite ride. I made the kids come on it again with me, it was so much fun! Ride on a friendly dinosaur and discover prehistoric surprises around every corner of Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Park. Parents can ride along with their little explorers, and that’s the best bit.

Mr. Bull’s High Striker – Uh Oh! It’s always unpredictable when Mr. Bull is about! Once the hammer hits the bell on Mr. Bull’s High Striker, prepare to bounce up to the sky. Hold on tight because, after all, what goes up, must come down…

Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour and George’s Tricycle Trail – Little ones will pedal their way through a camping adventure in the woods, through the icy mountains to see the sights, smells and sounds of the great outdoors! Smaller cyclists can enjoy George’s shorter pedal path adventure on tricycles built just for them!

As well as the six main attractions, there are lots of other Peppa-themed activities to keep you busy throughout the day, including water play, games and just-my-size playscapes. These include: Muddy Puddles Splash Pad, where you can join Peppa and George doing their favourite thing: jumping up and down in “muddy puddles!” This cute play area has spouting fountains, slides and other splashy surprises; George’s Fort – a cheeky maze; Peppa Pig’s Treehouse – Climb in and join Peppa for “high tea” in her not-so-high treehouse, then slide down to the bottom for even more fun!; Madame Gazelle’s Nature Trail – Discover what has left mysterious footprints on the ground as you explore the nature trail with Madame Gazelle; and Grandpa Pig’s Greenhouse – Explore inside and see what Grandpa Pig is growing – could it be something red and squishy, or green and round? I don’t want to spoil the surprise!

There is also daily entertainment at Mr. Potato’s Showtime Arena Stage, with live shows packed full of songs, games, snorts and giggles throughout the day, and a calmer, indoor, cinema to take a chance to cool off and watch some of your favourite episodes of Peppa Pig on the big screen.

What is the best age for Peppa Pig Land?

Our kids aged two and five loved it! (Image: Helen Wright)

The park is certainly aimed at the under-fives, but I think children as old as seven or eight would enjoy the new Peppa Pig Park, especially if they have grown up watching the Peppa family on TV. The park is much calmer and less hectic than some of the other Florida theme parks, so it’s a delightful day out for the whole family. The park will open as a Certified Autism Centre and has accessible rides for wheelchairs.

Tickets are reasonably priced and the joint-ticket with Legoland means that older thrill seekers can get their adrenalin rush next door, so there really is something for every age group.
