About us
Welcome to passportstamps.uk
family travel bloggers uk and uk travel vloggers
passporstamps.uk is a down-to-earth UK travel blog, that aims to inspire you to holiday better. As an independent travel site, we draw from our own experience and favour a local style of travel, always looking for the true character and personality of the destinations we visit. That said, we’re still the ultimate tourists at heart, so if we go to somewhere new and the top attraction is the one everyone wants to do (hello Empire State Building), we’re going to do that too – we’re not snobby (and we don’t want to miss out on all the fun!)
From the world’s most popular destinations, such as Walt Disney World and New York City to brilliant places you didn’t even know existed, like Scottsdale, USA, we encourage you to follow our travel stories whilst researching your next adventure.
Through honest destination guides, tried-and-tested itineraries, reviews and practical travel advice, we hope to inspire you to travel, with the aim of helping you plan a stress-free, brilliant trip, wherever you decide to go.

Family travel bloggers UK – how passportstamps.uk expanded when we did
How we became family travel bloggers uk
In the beginning, passportstamps.uk primarily focused on singles, couples and group travel. Launched by travel journalist and editor, Helen Wright in 2014, our frequently updated earlier posts focus on city breaks, road trips and around-the-world itineraries. In 2016, Helen quit London life, and a job as an award-nominated magazine editor, for an around-the-world backpacking trip with partner, Simon, and never looked back.
Helen and Simon’s whole trip around the world can be seen on the passportstamps.uk YouTube channel.
Back in London, the couple have since welcomed Finn and Isobel and become a family of four. That hasn’t stopped them travelling, with three-year-old Finn already clocking up 12 countries and counting (Isobel is lagging behind at just three, thanks to Covid-19). passportstamps.uk now includes family travel, but our trips can appeal to anyone, with or without kids.
‘As we have grown up, the website has evolved with us. We tend to follow our travel ambitions and make changes that fit the children into our travels rather than plan a trip around them. That way, we can show them the world as we see it, and hopefully pass on the travel bug to them! At home, we’re almost always thinking about packing up and escaping on the next plane, train or boat – and we’ve always got something planned.’ Helen Wright.

As well as Helen and Simon’s travel journey, passportstamps.uk also features freelance writers from across the globe, bringing different perspectives, motivations and experiences to the site. Find local insider tips on cities like Lisbon, Paris, Sydney and Tokyo, and some personal stories too.
We love to highlight destinations that are fabulous, and often lesser known, but all our tips and itineraries (basic or luxury) work within reasonable budget expectations. We’re not really a money-is-no-issue luxury blog, favouring grass roots and real experiences that are both aspirational and achievable.

Meet the gang:
Edited by Helen Wright

passportstamps.uk was created by Helen Wright, a plane-spotting, compulsive holiday-maker based in London. Helen has been a freelance lifestyle journalist for 15 years, writing for titles such as National Geographic Traveller, The Times, The Daily Mail, The Mirror, The Metro, The Sun, Fabulous, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Stylist, Mr Hyde, Spa Secrets, S Magazine, ABTA, ASTA, Fit and Well and OK! Helen has written stories on virtually everything from fashion to festivals, women’s health, sex, relationships, art, beauty, grooming and booze, but the topic she is most passionate about is, of course, travel. Traveling extensively for work, Helen launched passportstamps.uk in 2014 as a place to share her travels and pass on tips and advice she had collected along the way.
In 2010 Helen won Virgin Atlantic’s Red Hot Reporter competition and in 2013 was VUSA Highly Commended Travel Writer of the Year. In 2015 Helen was shortlisted for a British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) award for Editor of the Year (Branded Content). In the same year, Passportstamps.uk was a finalist for Online Consumer Travel Publication of the Year at the Travel Media Awards and again in 2016. passportstamps.uk was also named VUSA Best Travel Vloggers in 2016 for our travel Blog and Vlog series, featuring destinations across the USA.
“What gets me the most excited when I’m on holiday are the things I can’t wait to rush home and tell my friends and family about! That’s the reason I set up this site.’ Helen Wright

Content managed by Simon Henry

Simon is a freelance comms and digital consultant based in London. Helen and Simon met in 2013 and it wasn’t long before Helen dragged him along on her travels. On the side of his full-time job, he soon became Instagram husband, photographer, video editor and suitcase carrier (he loves it really). Reluctantly, Simon also appears on camera too and even though he tries to avoid it where possible, we think he’s natural! See him in action on his very first travel VLOG for passportstamps.uk in Italy.

Meet Finn & Isobel: the youngest family travel bloggers in the UK UK

‘Rather than stopping us in our tracks, Finn and Isobel have brought a new dimension to our travels and have inspired us to plan better, more varied itineraries and to challenge ourselves as parents and as travel journalists’. Helen Wright
Like their parents, Finn and Isobel (‘Fizzy’) are naturals and have already worked on campaigns for Walt Disney World and Orlando with AttractionTickets.com, SeaWorld and VisitOrlando. Finn has also featured in video campaigns for for Asda and Mothercare. As a family travel brand, we are often asked for advice and tips for travelling with children and the best travel kit for family travels. We love to advocate travel to destinations you might not think are family-friendly but also to take them to places they are guaranteed to love. The family have also proved that road trips, campervanning and long-haul travel is all possible with young children and, most importantly, an incredible experience.
Since becoming a mum, Helen’s professional portfolio has also expanded, writing parent travel features for Boots Parenting Club, Fit and Well magazine and Mamamia Australia, as well as becoming a parenting travel columnist on juniormagazine.co.uk
